We are off road enthusiasts who enjoy the great outdoors and the adventure of exploring new places.

Many things make up a great expedition. The preparations and the planning, the camping, the travel, the camaraderie, meeting new friends, challenging trails and seeing new sights around every corner are just a few reasons we enjoy it so much.

We believe that we should be good stewards of the land by following the tenets of Tread Lightly, practicing low impact camping and encouraging others to do the same.

Thanks

We'd like to thank the following companies and people for their assistance and support.

Truck Repair and full service at Inland Truck Parts Company

An important part of our expedition is the message we will carry about the tragic disease known as ALD or Adrenoleukodystrophy.

Phil Golden's son, Brooks, pictured at left, is afflicted with this dreadful disease.  Leaving in June, Phil is planning a trip that will have him traveling nearly the same route we will but from the south to the north.  He will carry the message about and educate people about this disease his son has.  Phil has allowed us to help carry the message during our expedition.  If you see the Expedition Awareness logo, please ask about it and we will all do the best we can to help you understand.

Thanks Phil...........

We would also like to thank the Colorado Connection Amateur Radio Linked system, Mega-Link amateur radio system in New Mexico, the Eastern Arizona Amateur Radio System (EAARS), the Verde Valley Radio system in Arizona and the Rim-Link radio system in Arizona for providing information about their linked amateur radios systems.  Thanks are due to many ham radio operators for their help in providing information concerning trails, radio frequencies and much more.

The following people and companies have provided much help in our planning and deserve special thanks.  Jeff Clark from Adventure Expedition Vehicles,  Scott Brady and Ray Hyland from the Overland Journal.  A special note of thanks goes to Ken and Forrest at Inland truck in Missoula, MT.  One of the Jeeps needed some suspension work and they did the work in spite of it being close to closing time.

Many, many thanks go to the wonderful people we met in Tubac, Arizona.  Of special note are  Terry Kirkpatrick and his wife who opened their shop, the Grumpy Gringo Cigar Shop, to us and provided a place for us to stay while we were there.  Then there was John, Frank, Vince and several others who made us feel welcome and were all gracious and gave new meaning to the word hospitality.  Also important was Dot the Bull Mastiff who allowed us to occupy her veranda while we were there.  We were all glad she was a very friendly dog.

Also thanks to: Alan "Ace" Brown, David Armbruster, Cliff Meier, Don Wood, Mike Corder, Steve Miller, Wade Walker and Willie Worthy.  There are many more who have helped us that deserve our heartfelt thanks.

Probably the most important people to thank are our families.  For their patience, understanding and encouragement considering how much it takes to put a trip of this magnitude together.   My wife Vicki Hiser is one of these people.    Thank you Vic for loving me enough to allow me to go on this adventure of a lifetime.   Love ya sweety pie!!!!
