We are off road enthusiasts who enjoy the great outdoors and the adventure of exploring new places.

Many things make up a great expedition. The preparations and the planning, the camping, the travel, the camaraderie, meeting new friends, challenging trails and seeing new sights around every corner are just a few reasons we enjoy it so much.

We believe that we should be good stewards of the land by following the tenets of Tread Lightly, practicing low impact camping and encouraging others to do the same.

We have recently learned that friends from Lincoln, Ne. may join Matt, Alex and I for a short while during our trip.

Welcome Marcus and friends, it will be great t have you along even if it is for only a short while.

We hope to meet others who are interested in joining us during this epic expedition. If you are, let us know and we will make sure you have the information you need.

Preparations

We continue to get those last minute details taken care of. The routing is about all set with much flexibility built in. We are watching the snow melt, runoff and trail condition. The wildfires in New Mexico and Arizona may play a part in our plans but that has yet to be determined.

Matt and I are working on getting Alex lined up with extra equipment and gear we have laying around that he could possibly use.

Vanishing America

Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting a blog where Mr. Holt Webb, explorer, writer and photographer has shared and continues to share with the world his adventures documenting a part of America few get to see.

The title of the Blog is "Vanishing America" and it is well worth the time to visit. The country we all call home is vanishing before our eyes and Mr. Holt is documenting this so we don't forget.

We all must take care of this land and be responsible when we engage in our 4x4 sport, camping and overlanding. Everyone should follow the tenets of Tread Lightly http://www.treadlightly.org/ while off road, or at any other time, so this land will be preserved for generations to come.

Please visit the Vanishing America site. You will be glad you did.
